Feast Day of St Thérèse of the Child Jesus

1st October 2021
Feast Day of St Thérèse of the Child Jesus - 1 October

Also known as St Thérèse of Lisieux and The Little Flower of Jesus, this holy woman is a Doctor of the Church. She was a French Catholic Discalced Carmelite nun whose 'little way' of loving God and neighbour has inspired millions across the globe. “Her last words, ‘My God, I love you,’ are the seal of her life,” said St Pope John Paul II who proclaimed her a doctor of the church 100 years after her death. Our parish was blessed to host her relics inside our church in February 2020.

Prayer of St Thérèse

O my God! I offer all my actions this day for the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to His perfection; and I wish to repair for my sins by casting them into the furnace of His merciful love. O my God! I ask of you for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly your holy will and to accept for love of you the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united in Heaven for all eternity. Amen. 🙏💖💐
