Prayer in Honour of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, refuge of sinners, I beg of you by the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and by the graces God has granted to you since your Immaculate Conception, the grace of never going astray again. Mother, keep me, a sinner, constantly bathed in the light of your Immaculate Heart. Amen. 🙏💖💐
Prayer of Reparation for Offenses Made Against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O Merciful Jesus, my King and my God, I worship You. O Blessed Mother, Mary Immaculate, I cherish you.
For those who offer you insult, I offer you praise.
For those who offer you mocking, I offer you honour.
For those who offer you disbelief, I offer you trust.
For those who offer you hate, I offer you love.
For those who offer you cursing, I offer you blessing.
For those who offer you ridicule, I offer you loving gazes.
For those who offer you blasphemy, I offer you adoration.
For those who offer you rebellion, I offer you obedience.
For those who offer you indifference, I offer you devotion.
For those who offer you obstinate pride, I offer you a contrite heart.
For those who offer you scorn, I offer you fidelity.
Soften the hearts of those who offend you, that they may come to know you and love you as you deserve.
Make my heart more fervent so I may pray without ceasing for the conversion and salvation of souls. Amen. 🙏💐💖
August - The Month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
August is the month the Church has traditionally dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Immaculate Heart of Mary represents her pure love for God and for her Son, Jesus Christ. It is also an emblem of her maternal affection for all humanity and her sorrow over the sins of the world.
This devotion to Mary’s Immaculate Heart invites us to reflect on her role in salvation history and encourages us to grow in holiness, to emulate her love and virtue, foster a deeper commitment to our faith and a greater love for all humanity.
Consecrating yourself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a great way to begin your spiritual journey into August. Ask for her help, for she is ever ready and willing to guide her children closer to her Son, Jesus.
In August, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the 15th, and The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the 22nd.
The Solemnity of the Assumption is a Holy Day of Obligation. This means that all Catholics are obligated to attend Mass on that day, just as they should each Sunday unless a serious reason (i.e. illness, natural disaster/accident, care of infants) prevents them. Those who deliberately fail in this obligation commit a grave sin (CCC 2181).
To facilitate the needs of all parishioners there will be TWO Masses made available in our Church. A vigil Mass on Thursday 14 August at 5.30pm, and the Mass of the Day on Friday 15 August at 9.15am which will be at Holy Trinity School. All parishioners are invited and welcome to attend the Mass at the school.
