First Friday and Saturday of November 2024

1st November 2024
The First Friday & Saturday in November, being the holy month of the Souls in Purgatory, will be Friday 1 November and Saturday 2 November. As these are also the Solemnity of All Saints and the Feast Day of All Souls we will particularly remember and celebrate these important days.

Mass will be celebrated at the following times:

Friday - Rosary 11.30am / Mass 12 Noon followed by Adoration at 12.30pm and concluding with Benediction at 1.30pm
Saturday - Rosary 8.30am / Mass 9am

Confession will be available from 8.00am to 8.30am on Saturday morning.

November is a special time to pray for the dead. A plenary indulgence which is applicable only to the souls in Purgatory is granted the Christian faithful who devoutly visit a church or an oratory on All Souls Day. This indulgence can only be obtained on the day itself. The conditions are: the exclusion of all attachment to sin; sacramental Confession (within 21 days); reception of Holy Communion on the day itself; the recitation of the Our Father and the Creed; a prayer for the Pope’s holy intentions.
Visiting a Cemetery: From November 1st through to and including November 8th, a plenary indulgence can be obtained for the souls in Purgatory on each of these days by visiting a cemetery and devoutly praying for the dead. In this case the reception of Holy Communion is fitting to be done on the same day but may be done within the same week. The other conditions apply as above.

November Masses for your deceased loved ones can be arranged through Aid to the Church in Need which arranges over 2 Million Masses each year, supporting 1 in 8 priests worldwide. You can visit www.aidtochurch.org/masses to arrange your Masses.

Prayer of Reparation for Offenses Made against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary

O merciful Jesus, my King and my God, I worship You.
O Blessed Mother, Mary Immaculate, I cherish you.
For those who offer you insult, I offer you praise.
For those who offer you mocking, I offer you honour.
For those who offer you disbelief, I offer you trust.
For those who offer you hate, I offer you love.
For those who offer you cursing, I offer you blessing.
For those who offer you ridicule, I offer you loving gazes.
For those who offer you blasphemy, I offer you adoration.
For those who offer you rebellion, I offer you obedience.
For those who offer you indifference, I offer you devotion.
For those who offer you obstinate pride, I offer you a contrite heart.
For those who offer you scorn, I offer you fidelity.

Soften the hearts of those who offend you, that they may come to know you and love you as you deserve.

Make my heart more fervent so I may pray without ceasing for the conversion and salvation of souls. Amen. 🙏💐💖

Prayer of St Gertrude the Great for the Souls in Purgatory

Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen. 🙏💖💐

Prayer for the Forgotten Dead

O Merciful God, take pity on those souls who have no particular friends and intercessors to recommend them to You, who either through negligence of those who are alive or through length of time, are forgotten by all.

Spare them, O Lord, and remember Your own when others forget to appeal to Your mercy. Let not the souls You have created be parted from You, their Creator. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through Your mercy, rest in peace. Amen. 🙏💖💐
